PUMA RE-SUEDE COLOR

PUMA took one of the brand’s most well-known and iconic shoes, the Suede, and re-tooled each component with the highest degree of recycled materials, delivering sustainable style through an unforgettable look and a pop of color to re-introduce the PUMA Re-Suede Color.

An icon of culture, the original PUMA Suede was famous for its bright colours, suede material, and custom lacing techniques throughout the 70s, 80s, & 90s.  Today, the PUMA Re-Suede has been developed using the latest materials and processes in eco-friendly product innovation.

The synthetic ultra suede upper material is created by Toray, leaders in the development of environmentally-responsible materials. The synthetic suede is comprised of 100% recycled polyester fibers and the outsole is made from Double R Rice Rubber.

The new footwear is incredibly light weight, thereby reducing the fossil fuels needed in transport, saving 15 tons of carbon emissions for every ten-thousand pairs shipped.

The Re-Suede will be sold in PUMA’s Clever Little Bag, a cutting-edge innovation in sustainable packaging that replaces traditional shoeboxes.

The PUMA RE-SUEDE Color will be available at Sole Academy starting Monday, October 15 and will retail for Php 4,710.00.

This classic, game changing shoe has influenced style trends for years based on its clean and simple silhouette.  The suede material opened doors for all categories.  In order to give back, the PUMA Re-Suede uses recycled materials, an idea that is also very hip.  Weighing in at less than the original suede, this footprint became even smaller. 

The Re-Suedes were initially released last year as a Euro-exclusive release, but due to the buzz it generated and the success it had, it got re-offered in The Philippines as a Sole Academy exclusive.

My pick would be the maroon pair, can't go wrong with the classic maroon and grey... But hey, better if you can cop 'em all. PUMA X UNDFTD CLYDE "SNAKESKIN" EVENT @ HIDEOUT

HideOut hosted Puma X UNDFTD's Clyde "Snakeskin Pack" Release Party last Saturday. Right around 5 in afternoon, collectors, industry people, tastemakers and various media correspondents gathered together to appreciate the fine collection. The event was just like the shoe it celebrated; understated and intimately set, but tastefully executed. I had a blast!

Sidebar: As an architect, I've always enjoyed HideOut's interiors. Definitely one of the better designed stores in Greenbelt 5. But as a sports fiend - more importantly a Walt Frazier fan - my mind went crazy when I saw Puma's archive photos of Clyde mounted on the store's well-designed shelves. It was a real treat! Good job on that Puma! Anyway, it was a nice evening to catch up with old friends as well as to meet new ones. Shouts to Martin, Mickie, Mikey, fellow La Sallian Jojo and his lovely fiancée (congrats you two!). Shouts to Edison for having us in his amazing shop. Also, shouts to Paolo for doing a good job of keeping everyone entertained, and for being the resident barkeep!

I was also fortunate enough to be given a quick peek at what Puma has in store for all you formstripe heads. I can't share too much right now, but better get ready for the heavy payload Puma is set to drop in the coming months! Now is a good time to get excited! Trust me, this will be dope. Thanks to Ian for that quick tour of the future, by the way!

PUMA X UNDFTD CLYDE - SNAKESKIN PACK

Walt Frazier. Clyde. Let me sidebar to a story real quick: Growing up, my dad shared stories of that cat that the league christened "Clyde". He was slick off-court - stunting in mink coats over designer suits on the daily. He would rock broad-brimmed Borsalino hats similar to Clyde Barrow's (hence the monicker), and he would pull up in a Rolls-Royce like a true boss. But once he crossed the hallowed threshold of Madison Square Garden, or any arena for that matter, he would ditch his flamboyant smile for serial killer eyes. He was not to be fooled with. He immediately transformed to a very intense competitor.

This gets thrown around a lot nowadays - but son, this Knickerbocker got swag. Not just swag, but OG status swag. He was on it generations ahead of everybody! He was so ill with it that he was one of the first pro ballplayers to get his own signature shoe! The "CLYDE" was a product of PUMA's athletic innovation and image marketing genius. Years after his tenure as a pro, Frazier's CLYDES had become such an icon that it helped change the global street culture. From a basketball court staple to b-boy essential; it shaped Hip-Hop - both the culture and the lifestyle - to what it is now.

Back to the topic: Continuing the legacy that Walt Frazier established, Puma and LA streetwear giant UNDFTD join forces once again to create another reincarnation of The Clyde. Donning the (almost) same silhouette, but with a swagged out SNAKESKIN formstripe.

Now here's the deal:

On May 5, at exactly 5:00 PM, The Puma Clyde x UNDFTD Snakeskin pack will exclusively drop at HideOut Greenbelt 5. A limited release of 36 pairs will be sold in the whole country! This release will strictly be on a NO RESERVATIONS, FIRST COME FIRST SERVED basis – only ONE pair per customer.
