It's Day 2 of Rjay's historic run to glory. All I can say is... It's About Damn Time!

Day 2 joint "It's About Time" features Ronthug and produced by beat genius BoJam of Flipmusic! The Artwork was done by no other than good friend and superhero artist Supermikki, my mans got so much Rollie in his closet, he knows it like the back of his hand!!! LOL Good work brother!

I wanted to rerecord my takes for it but Boj told me not to cause that would only contradict the message of the song. I now personally think that it was a good call. Salamat Boj! Our good friend RJay of LDP just released the first cut off his highly anticipated mixtape, 11.11.11. My dude is def one of the most hardworking people that I know (if you've been to UNSCHLD or if you've been in the booth with him, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about). With that in mind, coupled with his passion and talent... This mixtape will sure be fire... Without any doubt!




So to tide us fiendin' friends and fans over, he will be releasing one track a day via free download, culminating on the 11th! A huge release party and birthday bash will rock RONAC to celebrate the Deranged Poet's triumph. More details will hit the press as we draw closer to the date, so keep it here for updates!

LOST ONES.

If you've been in the Locker for a minute and you've been peeping the music I've been fiendin' on, I guess you are no stranger to the fact that J.Cole is my favorite MC.

If you haven't heard of him, check out LOCKER MUSIC; some of his earlier mixtapes are archived there. But if you're like me and you've been on his joints since he was Therapist, or at least since The Warm Up, you'd be familiar with his honesty. How he relays truth thru his lyrics, emotions thru his beats, and passion thru his tenacity.

Whether he followed his mentor's blueprint (who happens to be Jay-Z, no pun intended) of painting life in its purest form and banking on being real, J.Cole has crafted himself a niche in the age of YouTube dancing new n****s, skinny jeans playas, Purp drinking rappers, and auto-tune driven musicians. His limitation as a person ultimately became his strength as an artist.

LOST ONES is a track that dropped (or leaked) way before The Sideline Story released. And even though it spoke real, it contains more honesty than the usual J.Cole track. It's about a young man's struggle after learning that he got his girl pregnant. That internal conflict between being responsible for the consequence, taking it on the chin and just man'ing up, and being a helpless kid just grasping the dire situation that he got himself, his girl, and his seed into.

Fellas, don't front, I'm sure in some way you've faced this dilemma. When you want to do the right thing, but the gravity of the moment is just too big for you that you'd rather look for a quick way out... And I'm not sure how often ladies read my blog, but if you're a girl and you stumble upon this... Take time to listen to the song. Might get something valuable.

Okay. I'll be real with you, fam... I had NO idea what Frank 151 was until hours before the event. I was in my office waiting for traffic to die down when I decided to google it. I didn't want to be a chump and attend an event I was totally clueless about.

Turns out... It's the dopest thing ever. Here.

I can't really quantify nor qualify what makes it great. In some way it's the social maverick's guide to life. It's art, literature, photography, and a bit of social awareness cut in a 4" x 6" x 1" cube that you can carry around in your pocket. What made it extra nice is that CHAPTER 45 (the entire issue) is solely dedicated to The Philippines and it's culture. Made me feel so proud that a publication such as this took time (and of course, valuable press coverage) to showcase us Pinoys. So in lieu of an authentic Pinoy fiesta, RONAC patrons and well-wishers had a potluck of All-Filipino dishes... A mini pistang pambarrio in the heart of the most urban structure in the metro.

Anyway, you got to check it out for yourself. If you got a copy, you know what I'm talking about. If you know someone who has a copy, ask if you can borrow it for the night...

To those who made this possible, those who pitched the idea... Those who contributed and went out of their way to give us Chapter 45, isang tagay para sa inyo! Congrats!
